At a young age I was forced into playing
music by my parents. I was taught on both
piano and violin. Along with a passionate
hate for my teachers and lack of interest
in the instruments I was playing I stopped
playing. However they gave me the necessary
background of music knowledge needed for my
upto now unknown use for music
As I aged I began to become more interested in music
again and regretted my ignorance in my earlier years.
I decided I wanted to start playing again but wanted
to try new instruments. One of these was a guitar of
which I played for two years. However for me there
was still something missing.
Then with a great deal of inspiration from the Red
Hot Chilli Peppers' bassist (flea) I took up bass.
Armed with my little experience with guitar I delve
straight in with difficult songs and bass lines to see
how I suited the instrument. I loved it.
Playing bass in the band was a massive challenge for
me especially due to the fact I had only been playing
a few months. I found I had to adapt to a totally
different style to what I was used to.
I try my best to encorporate both what I had learnt
from English stuff to the traditional Ukrainian bass
lines.
